How to Report Probable Illegals inside Retama Village to Area Law Enforcement:

This has been updated because the McAllen Border Patrol Station now has a new Tactical Operations Center (TOC) for faster response time for our area. The new BP phone number to use is listed below.
Our Border Patrol Liaison asks Retama Village residents to do two things if trespassers are inside our neighborhood:
- Call the Mission Police FIRST at 956-584-5000. Give them as much information, as possible — exact location*, number of people, car description, icense plate number. The more information, the better. Give them the emergency gate code (key, key, 7777). Report that you will also be calling the Border Patrol.
- Call the McAllen Border Patrol SECOND at 956-217-3827 (TOC). Relay the same information to them and let them know that you have already called the Mission Police. Mission PD will usually call Border Patrol right away anyway, but Border Patrol asks that we still follow up and call as well and report our observations.At that point, the Mission Police and Border Patrol will contact each other via radio to coordinate activity. Individual property searches for trespassers would most likely be conducted by the Mission Police.
Please remain inconspicuous and do not confront the trespassers. Trespassers of this sort tend not to be a threat to residents; however, if they know you have seen them, they are more likely to escape. Just make the two calls.
If you notice vehicles drive in to pick up people who have been hiding, the color and make/model of the vehicle is really useful to law enforcement, even if you don’t catch the license plate number. If you have some idea where people might be hiding, or have hidden in the recent past, this information is also very important to pass along when you call or if you encounter agents or police checking our area.
* Location of Retama Village Subdivision - sometimes it is necessary to explain where we are located. We are at the southeast corner of Bentsen Palm Drive South and Military Road West (a.k.a. “New” Military road/highway). The main entrance is on Bentsen Palm Drive South, about 1/4 mile north of Bentsen RGV State Park. You can then describe where in the development you observed the activity - which quadrant, along which wall or street, etc.
