The Retama Village Voting System is used to elect people to elected positions, currently the Retama Village Finance Committee

The Retama Village Voting System is also used to approve Retama Village expenditures over $600.  Expenditures under $600 are at the discretion of the Retama Village Finance Committee.

We have implemented a way for owners to vote for things for Retama Village like people for committees or for other major decisions that will affect the direction of the Village.

The main reason for this change is to insure that all the owners in Retama Village can easily take part in the voting process whether they are present in the Village or away.  Like other voting situations, like for political offices, participation is important.  Nothing is unimportant in the direction of Retama Village where you have an investment.

We request that every lot owner vote in each called vote.  Since the new system is online and voting takes only a few minutes, you can give every committee member or directional decision for the Village the evaluation that the outcome is a result of the members of the Village and not just a small group.

While there is an Abstention option for a vote, we would prefer that you make a choice of the vote options.

The key to each vote will be the Lot Vote ID (LVI), a unique number assigned to each lot for each unique vote.  Each lot owner will receive the LVI via an individually addressed email message.  If there are two email addresses for a given lot, then both email addresses will be emailed the same unique LVI.

If the lot owner owns more than one lot, then the owner/s will receive a unique LVI for each lot.  Example, three lots owned would have three LVIs and be sent in six emails, in the case of two email addresses for each lot.

The LVIs will be generated from the Lot Owners database using changing variables to keep the LVIs from being predicable to provide privacy.

The Retama Village Voting System is hosted on its own separate website.  Before a scheduled vote, a list of valid LVIs will be uploaded to the website without any links to the lots or the owners for privacy concerns.

The vote process will have a time limit (start and stop) when votes can be entered.

Once a LVI vote is cast, you can no longer vote with that LVI.
