One of the many advantages to living at Retama Village is the availability of a safe gun range for residents to practice target shooting. The Retama Gun Club Inc., gun range is available to residents and renters of Bentsen Palm Village and Retama Village.
Law Enforcement Officers and Border Patrol (LEO) are also permitted to shoot at the range.

But the roads to the range are very unique.
REGISTRATION PROCESS:
The Retama Gun Club registration requires all shooters to watch our Range Safety Video, sign the RGC Waiver and pay an annual maintenance fee. A Retama Gun Club range badge is issued free of charge, range badges are issued at time of registration and must be worn while at the gun range.
The 24-minute video will be shown at the Range Registration, dates are scheduled throughout the winter season and are shown on the Range Calendar.

Retama Village: Single Shooter $40 Family $60
Bentsen Palm Village Guest: Single Shooter $40 Family $60
Law Enforcement officers: $20 (LEO family and friends are NOT permitted to shoot at the RGC)
RANGE BADGES
All shooters are asked to wear a range badge while at the range. Badges are issued after viewing the safety video, signing the waiver and payment is received. The badges are a high quality, magnetic badge and are used from year to year. Each year a colored ‘bubble' for the corresponding year Is attached to the badge.
RANGE LOCATION:
The gun range is located south of the levee, near the Rhodes Enterprise storage barns, and is east of the dirt road to the ‘palapa’ and west of the Border Patrol surveillance camera, south the Mission Reservoir.

This is a private, member only range. Badges must be worn while at the range. The range is open 7 days a week, during daylight hours.
The Range runs under a Cold Range Policy – All firearms are to be COMPLETELY unloaded, with no ammunition in the firearm.
NEVER walk down range to check targets until all firearms have been placed in the proper safe position and a “range is clear” has been declared and acknowledged by the other shooters.
